Regulation Changes – Badminton
Section 4.1.1 – (Instructions to Technical Officials) and Section 4.1.1.1 (Instructions to Para Badminton Technical Officials)
Clarification of procedures – Clarification of the following procedures:
For handing of equipment to players during matches.
If a new coach or physio wishes to join during an interval.
When players leave the court during an interval.
Wording when an IRS decision ends the game and there is no LJ or LJ was unsighted.
That matches should not be stopped due to external procedures etc camera flashes.
Shirt changes should only occur during intervals.
Procedure for end of match in WH and SH matches.
Medical Intervention
Change of procedure for when Doctors are required on court. The Referee is to first ascertain if a Doctor is required and if so then call the Doctor to court (who should be waiting courtside). Emergency intervention procedures are still applicable.
Section 4.1.5 (Vocabulary) The word ‘faulted’ is added to vocabulary as well as the phrase ‘you used your communication device’.
Section 5.1 (General Competition Regulations)
The Draw
Confirmation that the Seed Withdrawal Procedure may only be used once for an event.
If two entries have same ranking, their seeding will be determined by drawing lots.
After seeding, if there are vacant seeded positions, these should be filled using the order in the M & Q.
Clothing
Clarification for lettering if there are two distinctly different colours on back of shirts.
Registration of players last name must consist of at least two letters.
Clarification of advertisement size if on a contrasting colour – not part of advert.
